Our Story

The Romeo Golf DX Club was established December 3, 1997 in Gillette Wyoming Devil's Tower area. By February 28, 1998 Romeo Golf DX club officially became International with our first international member and net director, division 61 RG 2781 Matias Ecuador South America. We had grown to about 60 members in 10 countries. The group stayed active until around 2000 to 2001 until the Founding president stepped down due to personal issues.

In 2022 the Founding president set the goal to (as the line in Blues brothers goes) get the Band back together. after many months of research there were two original members that were located. In keeping with the original charter date of December 3, the Founding President 2RG 104 set the re-charter process.

The Romeo Golf DX club began a re-charter membership drive from January 1, 2023 to February 1, 2023. The re-charter membership totaled fifty Romeo Golf operators.

January 11, 2023 the Romeo Golf DX Club received it's first international operator from division 161 Poland, Making the Romeo Golf DX Club re-charter officially an international DX Club.

August 1, 2023 The Romeo Golf DX Club began a new youth program called "Romeo Golf The Next Generation." It's goal and purpose is to introduce youth ages 6-16 into the hobby of CB and Sideband radio. Each youth enters in as a Cadet under the supervision of a parent or relative, the Next Generation staff issues lessons, and activations. The Cadets work at their own pace until they have completed the Cadet program in which they will graduate and receive their Diploma from the Next Generation course. Upon completing the course they will become official Romeo Golf operators ready to carry on the hobby that past generations have grown to love.

As of March 8, 2025 The Romeo Golf DX Club has a membership of 559 operators in 33 different countries.

We are a group of many different faiths and cultures. Our goal is to promote the hobby of eleven meter band radio communications. To recruit and introduce adults and children to the world of Dx'ing in SSB, FM and AM modes on CB radio. To promote good ethics and conduct in operating on CB eleven meters. To build friendships with one and all, to create a Romeo Golf community of citizen willing to help communities and country in times of need. To bring a positive aspect the world of radio.
